THE ORANGE SQUASH PARTY ADVENTURES IN UK AND IRELAND—PART 3

We started off Day 3 grandly by oversleeping and missing the train to Bodmin Parkway in Cornwall! :P Plus there were some electric problems on the Central line. So, we ended up catching the next train. And... that's when we found our first laugh of the day when a group of young boys, who had got on to the train, launched into a funny song.

From the station we made our way to our destination... Tintagel, chosen more for being part of the South West Coast Path than the Arthurian legend, to be honest. :P We had cool rooms at a B&B, including one with a lovely view of the sea.

We immediately set out for the Walk which was happily just a little away from our B & B and... my heart just lifted with gladness. Enough that I hummed and sang as I walked on the path that plunges down into the gorgeous waters below.

The path is bordered by tiny, colourful flowers growing in their thousands to one side while on the other side are meadows. We also had the dubious pleasure of climbing over stiles on the way. :D I kept imagining my sisters, Jaya and Sappu with me. Jaya would be off collecting the tiny flowers while Sappu would have been darting around exploring undiscovered paths. Someday... I want to come back here with them and my monkey of a niece, Aisha. :)

Our walk took us to the ruins of Tintagel Castle, connected to the legend of King Arthur. The place also boasts of Merlin's cave. A board quietly states that the castle was built by Richard, the Earl of Cornwall. We went down the watchtower but the main ruins had closed by then. We made our way to Tintagel (Tintahgel) town and the rows of quaint shops along the way. We stepped into one and found pewter figurines of fairies and figures from Arthurian legend as well as those of splendidly fierce dragons. Then, famished, we headed to The Cornishman Inn where we enjoyed our meal more because they had a plaque over the fireplace with the following message...

"All they zits in front this vire

Pray move yourzelf tis my desire

That tother voke aswellazyou

May zee the vire and veel it too." :D
