Bewdi-Lee

She lurches, she stumbles, she sways uncertainly, as she reaches out with one hand, looking for something, anything, that will stay put. A slow shuffling follows, always uncertain, the world seems to be out of control; if only there were convenient and reassuring handholds everywhere.

She tries getting up… okay, that seems to be relatively easy but now how to get back down? From up there, the ground seems long down and rather hard. An exasperated cry brings someone to help but… she’s not one to quit. She tries again, and again, and again, till she’s popping up and down with regularity.

But things will be always out of reach and she wants them, whether it is the phone, a cup, her bottle… So, begins the slow but determined crawl, shuffle, stumble, thump, sideling motion towards her object. Her eyes are fixed unwaveringly at her object and her triumph is complete when she puts out her hand but… her hand doesn’t seem to be doing what she wants it to do! Her grab only pushes the thing away.

Our girl is made of tough stuff. She pushes, she prods and finally figures out that opening her hand and curving her fingers around the thing manages to do the trick.
