A Romance


He puffed up his shoulders;
And beefed up his arms
Cocked an eyebrow and sent her a leer (aimed to disarm)

He swelled and swirled
And chased her for miles
But his love wouldn't consent
To look at him twice

She was in a snit
And a big snit was it

Spoilt as she was
She pouted and she sulked
She drifted here and she paused there
For no other reason
Than that she simply could

What caused the quarrel?
You may naturally ask
Who cares for reasons, sniffs she flightily
When whims rule and reason flees

Flighty or not; Woo her he did
Showing off his might
Disdaining all advice

Till tired and irritated; puff she went
Scattering into a million wisps,
Spread across the smirking sky
To the vast entertainment of passersby

A romance if it was
A romance of the clouds...
